| After living in Japan for almost 9 years, Jeff Shapiro returned to build an anagama kiln in upstate New York 22 years ago, where he lives with his wife Hinako and two children, Ryan and Ayako. | |
| His work has been shown in galleries across America, Japan, Italy and Australia. | |
| He has work in the Everson Museum, Brooklyn Museum, The Mint Museum and Boca Raton Fine Arts Museum as well as prestigious private collections. | |
| he was commissioned to make a piece for the Japan gallery of the Metropolitan Museum in New York. | |
| He has taught previously at Penland and lectured at Hunter College, Brooklyn Museum and The Metropolitan Museum as well as the Japan Society of New York, and internationally at universities in Australia, Italy and Korea. | |
